Broomroot or rice root, is obtained from
the thick roots of the Muhlenbergia
macroura, an herbaceous perennial
plant species that grows in Central
America, especially in the mountainous
regions of Mexico. It is harvested
throughout the entire year, after which
the fiber is washed and dried. Once it
has been dried, the product is selected
according to quality specific standards
and then baled for export. |
